Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is next Tuesday, and I’m trying not to be a negative Nelly about the whole thing. I have made a date with my Wee One – we’re going to get a heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s, watch iCarly together, and be each other’s Valentines/Best Friend :)

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and feeling all lovey-dovey, I want to share a few gift ideas, music suggestions and other Valentine’s/love-related things to brighten your day (and also to combat that whoppingly negative blog post I did earlier – sorry about that…just needed to get my rant on). Here we go! :)

1) I love a cheesey romantic song as much as the next girl, and “My Dream Come True” by Frozen Ghost is ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME!!! The video is ridiculously 80s cheeseball, but the song is pretty awesome! Check it out! :)

2) I don’t know the proper name for these rings, but I have always loved them – here’s a picture:

Two Hearts Ring, Sterling Silver Ring with Pink Tourmaline & Diamond

They don’t meet, they aren’t complete circles, they remind me of horseshoes but aren’t…I don’t know what they’re called. I wish I did (if you happen to know, drop me a comment, please!). I love these rings! I think they are so pretty – they make me smile :)

3) While I’m talking jewelry, I want to mention my undying LOVE for LeVian…some of their things are kind of out there for a simple girl like me, but some of their pieces make me want to weep in admiration of their sheer beauty. Here’s a couple of my favorites that are currently on sale:

Currently $540.00 at Overstock

10k Rose Gold Morganite, Sapphire and 1/10ct TDW Diamond Ring (I-J, I1-I2) This ring isn’t a LeVian, but it is STUNNING! It’s on sale at Overstock for $416!
Le Vian 14k Rose Gold Ring, Chocolate and White Diamond Circle 38 ct.One of my favorites from LeVian…I try it on ALL THE TIME at Macy’s (where’s it’s currently on sale for $994!)
4) Punch Boxes! I am in love with this idea – here’s the picture:
Here’s an explanation of how they work: Back in the 1920’s people played parlor games. One such game was called a “Punch Box.” These playful objects had tiny compartments that contained paper scrolls with messages hidden inside. Leafcutter Studios has created an updated version — you can use some of their 12 standard messages or create your own for Valentine’s Day.Price: Starts at $20
I think these are absolutely adorable and I WANT ONE!! Love this!!!! :)
5) And finally, what romantic day would be complete without some champagne? :) I’m planning to whip up some of this Pomegranate Champagne Punch (thanks for the recipe, Martha Stewart!) for myself :)
pomegranate champagne punch
 • 1 1/2 cup(s) pomegranate juice
 • 1 cup(s) pear nectar
 • 1/4 cup(s) orange-flavored liqueur, such as Grand Marnier
 • 1 bottle(s) (750-milliliter) Champagne

Directions

 1. In a large pitcher, combine pomegranate juice, pear nectar, and orange-flavored liqueur. Slowly add Champagne. Serve over ice.

I’ll be back in a couple of days with more ideas for Valentine’s Day :) Hope love is in your air! :)
